Michael is a Lafayette native and Purdue graduate with a degree in Visual Communication Design. Before joining the team, Michael spent 15 years building a single freelance design job into a full-time career. During this time, Michael cultivated numerous relationships, forming an impressive roster of clients throughout the Midwest. These experiences have ultimately given him a well-rounded understanding of effective branding practices.
As Dearing Group’s Creative Director, Michael operates as the head of the company’s think tank. Dozens of graphic design sketches, rough drafts and branding strategies fly across his desk on a daily basis. Michael processes these bodies of work, assesses them and then provides feedback to our designers and writers to help create harmonious and effective products. In addition to collaborating with our team of creative designers, Michael also works alongside our executive team – allowing him to fully understand our clients and ensure that their brands accurately reflect their foundational goals. The result is a balancing act of fast-paced collaboration – one which Michael handles with experienced poise.
He currently lives in Lafayette with his girlfriend, his son Blake, and their corgi. If you can’t find Michael in the office, you might try looking on a snow-capped mountain where he’ll be enjoying his passion: snow skiing.
